Trans NFL Cheerleader Justine Lindsay Felt “Blacked Out” But Finally Made It.

The NFL’s first transgender cheerleader, Justine Lindsay, is committed to paving the way for future generations. She joined the Carolina Panthers’ organization the prior year and is now in her second season as a cheerleader for them in the NFL.

Her trip to the NFL was filled with anticipation, and in March 2022, Lindsay wrote on Instagram about her first joy, describing how she felt like she “blacked out” when she got the call from TopCats director Chandalae Lanouette.

Lindsay now views her position as an NFL cheerleader as a chance to have a huge impact on the younger generation. She compares her role to that of a doctor or nurse, emphasizing how it could serve as an example for other transgender people and open doors for them.

“I want to change the narrative for my trans sisters and brothers, just to [let them] know that if you have a goal, go for it,” Elle Magazine was told by Lindsay.

“Turn that dream into a reality. Be an NFL cheerleader, or a doctor or a nurse or whatever you set your mind to.

“Everything that I’m going through now, it’s bigger than me.

“I’m setting things up for the younger generation. No one is going to stop this show.”

The Fairness in Women’s Sport Act, which was adopted in North Carolina, intends to bar transgender athletes from participating in sports that are only open to biological females.

Lindsay emphasized that the passage of the Act has not deterred her from continuing to advocate for it, despite Riley Gaines’ passion for it and her joy at its passage.

“I will fight this until I can’t fight anymore,” Lindsay noted. “It saddens me to see it.”
