Top Five Things You Did Not Know About NBA Star Paul George
As the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2010 draft, the Indiana Pacers picked Paul George a six-foot eight-inch forward. Prior to entering the draft, Paul George was a student-athlete at Fresno State where he played for two seasons.
Since entering the NBA, George spent seven years with the Pacers before moving to the Oklahoma City Thunder for two years. He is currently playing for the Los Angeles Clippers after having signed a massive deal with the team. LA Lakers fan
George grew up in Palmdale, California. Growing up he idolized Kobe Bryant and was an ardent supporter of the Los Angeles Lakers. While he has never stated publicly that he wants to play for the Lakers it is hard to imagine he would pass up the opportunity if it ever came along.
Jersey Retirement
George spent two years at Fresno State from 2008-2010 during that time he had some incredibly impressive performances. On November 10, 2019, George’s number 24 was retired by Fresno State.
Mega Contract
In December 2020, The LA Clippers extended George’s contract for four years at $190 million, which will guarantee him as much as $226 million over the next five years, making him one of the highest-paid athletes in the NBA. He currently has the biggest contract in his team more than Kwahi Leonard as well.
History maker
In the 2008 draft, Paul George was the 10th overall pick making him the highest-ever pick out of Fresno State. This record is still intact and is yet to be broken.
Entertaining player
In his sophomore season, he was named the most entertaining player in the West region and the eighth most entertaining player in college basketball by Sports Illustrated in their list of the “Top 16 Most Entertaining Players in College Basketball.”
