Top 5 NBA Coaches With Highest Salary
Gregg Popovich, San Antonio Spurs
Coach Pop rightly maintained the top rank for a long time. He is one of the most successful coaches in NBA history, having won five NBA championships and three Coach of the Year honours while leading the Spurs to 22 consecutive playoff appearances from 1998 to 2019.
Popovich, who is now 74 years old, is also the president of the San Antonio Spurs, which he has led since 1996.
Gregg Popovich:
“I only designed one play for [Victor Wembanyama] in the entire game, and he ended up getting about 20 points. And he scored on that play I designed (laughing).”

He’s won a whopping 64.2 percent of his regular-season games, totaling 1,366. In his 28 seasons as a coach, he has made the playoffs 22 times, most recently in 2018-19.
No one in the NBA is more deserving of the title of highest-paid coach than Popovich, who just signed a one-year deal for $16 million.

Monty Williams, Detroit Pistons
Williams’ contract provides him with a salary of more than $13 million every season, which was a record for a short while.
That means Williams’ average compensation is $13.05 million, but that doesn’t account for the rumored incentives that may push the contract to $100 million over eight years. While being compensated well for his services, Williams has the luxury of time to develop a young Pistons franchise.
Williams has only appeared in one NBA Finals and has yet to capture his first championship. He is noted, though, for having a strong personality and a propensity for cultivating emerging talent.

Steve Kerr, Golden State Warriors
As he constantly assists his teams in exceeding expectations year after year, he has also been known to make the most of average squads.Spoelstra may get upwards of $20 million year on his next contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, which would catapult him to the top of our list (spoiler warning). He has won 704 games during the regular season, two NBA championships, and six Eastern Conference Championships.
