Tom Brady Weighed In On Bill Belichick’s Coaching Strategy Post Week 5 Loss

Brady, along with head coach Bill Belichick, led the Patriots to six Super Bowl championships between 2001 and 2019. As a consequence of their triumphs, there has long been a dispute about who was more important to the team’s success throughout that time period.

Tom Brady Weighed In On Bill Belichick’s Coaching Strategy Post Week 5 Loss

Tom Brady weighed in on Bill Belichick’s coaching philosophy during the New England Patriots’ Week 5 shutout defeat to the New Orleans Saints. The Patriots were defeated 34-0 by the Saints in a game in which quarterback Mac Jones was benched for the second time. As the offence continued to struggle, he threw another pick-six.

As the Patriots “start over,” few believe in the guy in charge of hitting the reset button. Former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady believes Patriots coach Bill Belichick will be the same man he has always been.

Although Bill Belichick and his coaching have been criticised, Tom Brady stated on the “Let’s Go!” podcast (at the 7:40 mark) that the coach is still doing a terrific job, but the players aren’t making the plays:

“I think he’s got a very consistent approach and it’s the right approach. It’s trying to prepare the players and give them the best opportunities. You get out there in the field in the end, you know, once the play’s called in, the players got to go do it.”

“It takes a great coaching staff to win. It takes great players to win. It takes great front-office support to win. It’s an organisational win. It’s an organisational loss.”

“I think people always ascribe win or loss to one player and they did that for me a lot with winning and it’s not about me, it’s about us. As a leader, when you lose, you take the blame and you get the credit when you win. But at the end of the day, it’s a team sport.”

The Patriots have been outscored 72-3 in their previous two games, and the heat is mounting on their head coach and quarterback.
