Tom Brady Slips Which Results In Failed Trick Play Against Seahawks In Germany

On Sunday in Germany, Tom Brady was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ main focus against the Seattle Seahawks, but for all the wrong reasons.

Tom Brady Slips Which Results In Failed Trick Play Against Seahawks In Germany

The Buccaneers attempted a trick play in the third quarter while leading 14-3, with running back Leonard Fournette taking the snap and Brady lined up as a receiver to the left. Unexpectedly, Fournette rolled out and was aiming to catch the ball at Brady.

Brady appeared to be going up for the grab because he had his eyes on the ball. He slipped instead, and the Seahawks’ Tariq Woolen made the interception. Brady, who was on the ground, tripped the defender as Woolen advanced down the field. Brady received a penalty for tripping.

Because the Tampa Bay offense has struggled through their first nine games of the season, offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich of the Buccaneers received criticism on social media for calling the play when the Bucs were up by ten points.

Even worse, upon making the reception off of Fournette’s pass, Tom Brady was penalized for tripping over Seattle defender Tariq Woolen, who became entangled in the quarterback’s legs. Brady put out his leg as Woolen came down with the pick and tripped the defensive back, who had an open field in front of him, adding insult to injury to the spectacular fail trick play. He was properly flagged.

The play was a terrible failure in every way. There was no need to start pulling out the tricks from the bag of tricks because the Buccaneers had a lot of momentum on their side.

A running back cannot easily be asked to halt abruptly and throw a deep ball across the field. There is also the slippage. Simply brutal on all fronts.

The Buccaneers managed to defeat the Seahawks, 21-16, in the NFL’s first regular-season game played in Germany despite the unanticipated turn of events.

Earlier in the game, Tom Brady made a 31-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Julio Jones. Before leaving the game with a hip injury, Fournette, whose availability due to a passport issue had previously been in doubt, also scored a touchdown. Chris Godwin later scored a touchdown for Brady, who finished 22 of 29 passes for 258 yards and one interception.
