“To Make A Living From Sport” Is “Not Easy,” Said Alica Schmidt, ‘World’s Sexiest Athlete.’ Know The Reason

Alica Schmidt reveals the possible financial limitations that sportsmen may encounter.

The German track and field athlete, who has been dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete,” described the hardships that competitors face as they work to improve their trade while attempting to make ends meet.

“In principle, I have to say that it is not easy for most German track and field athletes to make a living from sport,” As reported by the Daily Mail, Schmidt stated in a social media video.

“If we are in the squad, i.e. in the national team, we receive €700 (or $739) from Sporthilfe.”

The 24-year-old Schmidt claims that while some sportsmen get “a small sum” from clubs, it’s “usually not enough to make a living from”.

A 400-meter runner who qualified for Germany’s Olympic team but did not compete in the 2020 Games, Schmidt went on to say, “You have travel and hotel costs that are not always covered” when discussing tournaments.

Schmidt expressed gratitude for social media as an additional source of income, pointing out that she had 4.7 million Instagram followers alone.

Schmidt, who “believes most of her peers have to study” or hunt for supplementary work, stated, “I am grateful that I earn my money with social media and can save myself another part-time job,” according to the Daily Mail.

With a massive two million-follower on TikTok, Schmidt is currently anticipating the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

 “The goals are set, the plan is made, it’s time to get back to the grind 💯 Olympic season next year.” Schmidt wrote in an Instagram post that was published in late September.
