One person is dead and another is hurt after a large explosion at the North Carolina house of NFL defensive back Caleb Farley.

According to several sources, Farley had just recently acquired the multi-million dollar property that was destroyed in the event, which occurred late on Monday near Mooresville, North Carolina.

According to Queen City News, Robert Matthews Farley is the name of the deceased victim whose corpse was discovered in the rubble.

The 61-year-old was reportedly present when the explosion occurred. The football player’s father, Farley, was initially revealed by WSOC.

It is unknown if Caleb Farley was at home when the bomb occurred, however, he was not a casualty.

As the first responders arrived on the site, the injured person could be seen leaving the premises. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital where he is receiving non-life-threatening injury treatment.

According to Greene, an investigation into the situation is still underway, however, its current focus is on the natural gas pipes in the house.

Later it was discovered that the deceased was Farley’s father, who was killed in the explosion. Robert was the name of his father. He has been married to his wife since 1987.

A “loud explosion” and gas smell were reported by neighbours to the media soon before 12 in the morning.

According to Queen City News, the cause is being looked at, but “there is no evidence of foul play.”The 6,391-square-foot residence and a number of nearby cars were completely damaged and beyond repair.

Farley was chosen by the Titans at number 22 overall in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Over the course of his first two NFL seasons, he participated in 12 games and had 14 tackles.
