In a health update to the Associated Press on Tuesday, Woods said that his ankle is doing well. This weekend, he caddied for his son Charlie in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship, walking and carrying the bag for four days in a row.

After retiring from the Masters during the third round, the 15-time major winner had treatment in April of last year and did not return to competition until the Hero World Challenge in December.

The former world number one will compete in the Genesis Invitational in 2024, his first PGA Tour tournament.

The 48-year-old Woods stated his passion for the game has not decreased and that he intends to play for as long as possible. Previously, he stated he plans to compete in one event every month this year.

“My ankle doesn’t hurt any more,” he said at the pre-tournament press conference. “The bones aren’t rubbing any more.”But then again it’s different, other parts of my body have to take the brunt of it, just like my back is fused and so other parts of my body have taken the brunt of that. I have two different body parts that are now fused. Other parts of the body have to adapt.”

“As far as the love, I still love competing, I love playing, I love being a part of the game of golf. This is the game of a lifetime and I don’t ever want to stop playing.”

The tech-infused golf league that Woods and Rory McIlroy co-founded, TGL, will have a four-man squad that Woods will play on, the player said on Wednesday.

With the exception of the indoor circuit’s January debut, Woods has not yet disclosed when or whether he plans to compete again.

In its 20-man field, Woods’ Hero World Challenge will take place in the Bahamas later this month. There is one slot left. Additionally, Orlando, Florida will host the PNC Championship from December 14–17. Players are allowed to use carts in the PGA Tour family tournament, where Woods and Charlie have teed it up for the past three years.
