This Is How Coach Prime Deion Sanders Made Colorado A Tough Team
In his first game as Colorado’s head coach, Deion Sanders’ team’s victory over TCU on Saturday served as vindication. And he made certain to inform the media of it.
After his team defeated the Horned Frogs 45-42, Sanders addressed the media and began berating certain journalists by name and criticizing them for “what they wrote” about his squad.

Sanders and the Colorado Buffs squad stunned the NCAA football world on Saturday when they defeated TCU, which was ranked 17th, despite being 20-point underdogs.
Seize the moments, the opportunities, the day & the time we're afforded. Now Now Now is it. It's on u & it's about u & consequently how can positively affect others. Believe in yourself & the gifts u possess & go get it. #CoachPrime

Deion Sanders has made the franchise into a lightning rod for attention, both positive and negative, which has energized a following, enraged the sport’s devotees, and led everyone in between to reflect on how he is conducting business.
Shedeur Sanders, Deion’s son and the quarterback, dismantled TCU for more than 500 passing yards and five touchdowns, proving he is more than just a benefactor of nepotism and generating NFL Draft buzz.

Coach is a breath of fresh air among the stuffy, austere ranks of uninteresting football coaches and one of the greatest personalities football has ever seen. Since arriving in Boulder, Deion has never once apologized for his brilliance or made it known that things aren’t going according to plan.
High school quarterback Bryce Underwood hails from Belleville, Michigan, which is a suburb of Detroit. He is a 6-foot-3 junior who has been regarded as the top quarterback for a few years now by recruiting services, if not the No. 1 overall recruit, in the Class of 2025.

The recruiting battle for him, until this week at least, centred on a few obvious choices.
Then, on Saturday, Coach Prime, Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and the Colorado Buffaloes defeated TCU 45-42 in an exhilarating game both on and off the field.
Colorado had first extended a scholarship offer to Underwood in January. But when Shedeur Sanders passed for 510 yards and four touchdowns this week, all of a sudden Underwood was speaking to Prime directly.

“It was very exciting to have my first conversation [with Deion Sanders],” Underwood told 247Sports. “It was good to have my first conversation with him. Just him letting me know he wanted me there and to lead them to a national championship was exciting to hear.”
Deion Sanders received a lot of backlash from the media for his actions and choices in the beginning of his term. For some of the decisions he made about his personnel, even some of his fellow Pac-12 coaches publicly condemned him.

Coach Prime, however, is unable to carry this grudge indefinitely. It’s going to fast get stale.
People will push back harder at the first indication of difficulty — and difficulty will always exist — the more he pushes back.
But for the time being, Coach Prime will get the final laugh. He’s now enjoying one, too.
