“They’re a Little More Reserved” – Olivia Dunne Reveals Older Generation’s Say While Seeking Autographs as Compared to the Youngsters
Over the past year, Olivia Dunne has undergone a lot of change, including the evolution of her fan base.
Following an incident at the College World Series in Omaha last month, where the broadcast appeared to capture her signing memorabilia for an elderly man, the star LSU gymnast went into further detail about her interactions with autograph seekers in a recent interview on the “Full Send Podcast.”

This spring, Dunne made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut. “Ever since I did Sports Illustrated [Swimsuit], too, there’s like 12-year-olds and then their dads, which is like, I mean it kinda comes with what I do,” she added.
“But usually whenever people come up to me and they’re older they say it’s for their daughter’s friend’s sister’s brother’s dog.”

But the New Jersey native said that when it comes to meeting female admirers, they are “a little more reserved.”
“They usually don’t come up to me as much as the guys or at least they’re a little more nervous to,” Dunne said. “I love meeting all my fans, but especially the girls. They’re always so sweet.”
Dunne’s fame has only continued to grow in the last year, and according to On3 Sports, her NIL worth of $3.3 million has also increased. She now has more than 11 million followers between her TikTok and Instagram sites.

In addition to the College World Series, where Dunne’s beloved LSU Tigers defeated the Florida Gators in the pivotal game, 18-4, she has also run into supporters during gymnastics competitions, including a raucous scene from January.
When questioned about the number of male fans attending events, Dunne said that this year has been the “craziest.”
“At the Utah meet this year it was a bit crazy,” Dunne said of the January match.
Although this wasn’t the ideal ending to my senior season, I am so grateful to have had the best season with the best team ever. Thank you to my coaches for all their hard work and making me the gymnast I am today. Forever and always, go pink 💗 @ENAPARAMUS pic.twitter.com/3lCryggYzY

Even though Dunne wasn’t on the roster at the time, fans were seen putting up Dunne-related signs there.
Later, Dunne asked followers to “be respectful” of other contenders in a tweet.
“I will always appreciate and love the support from you guys, but if you come to a meet, I want to ask you to please be respectful of the other gymnasts and the gymnastics community as we are just doing our job,” she wrote.
