Kamaru Usman set to take on Leon Edwards in yet another rematch

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is all set for his sixth title defense. After an impressive win over Colby Covington in their rematch, Usman sat on the sidelines for the better part of a year due to a hand injury that he got a surgery for. This is contrary to what we are used to seeing from the champion who defended his belt three times in 2021.

This time around, it is yet another rematch as he takes on Leon Edwards for the title. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ faced ‘Rocky’ back in 2015 when he secured a unanimous decision win. However, at that time Usman was a wrestler with little to no striking and Edwards was a striker with little to no wrestling in him.

However, in their rematch, things have changed drastically. Usman has now improved his striking considerably and has knocked out two of his last three title challengers. Edwards, on the other hand has improved his wrestling significantly and has used his wrestling solely on multiple occasions to secure a win.
