The Locker Room At Highmark Stadium Left Chiefs’ Players Freezing

On Sunday night, the Buffalo Bills experienced something very familiar. For the third time in the previous four seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs eliminated them from the playoffs.

The Locker Room At Highmark Stadium Left Chiefs’ Players Freezing

With a sense of purpose, the Chiefs travelled to Buffalo for Patrick Mahomes’ first-ever road playoff game. They defeated the Bills in remarkable fashion, defying all odds.

But this time, it took place somewhere different. Buffalo was playing its adversary in the AFC West in the welcoming setting of Western New York’s Highmark Stadium. That meant windy skies, lake effect weather, and a ton of snowballs—some festive, many not.

Due to a glaring incapacity to take advantage of the possibilities presented to them in a terrible fourth quarter, the Bills lose 27-24. However, they weren’t the only ones who felt uneasy as they left the stadium.

Donovan Smith, a left lineman, complained on X on Sunday night after the game from the Highmark Stadium locker room, stating that there was no hot water for the squad.

The Bills allegedly turned off the hot water in the Chiefs’ locker room, extinguishing the victory glow. It appears that Buffalo’s bitter cold extended beyond the field of play.

This season, malfunctioning water heaters in rivalry games have caused showers to abruptly end on more than one occasion.

A similar occurrence happened during a New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders game in November, but it was more related to FedEx Field’s quirks that time.

Regarding the hot water—or lack thereof—that the Chiefs reportedly encountered following the game played in the bitterly cold 20-degree temperatures, the Bills have remained mute on the subject.

The reigning Super Bowl winners, though, don’t appear to have been too put off by the chilly rains.

It’s obvious that Western New Yorkers’ resentment bubbled over following Buffalo’s humiliating loss to Kansas City. Before the Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game the following week, fans should pay close attention to the league’s reaction to the heated postgame events.
