The Lakers Must Avoid Pleasing LeBron James In The Name Of Reunion

Who will be playing with LeBron James next season?

The Los Angeles Lakers are in search of potential players. Probably, they need the third man to support and cope up with Anthony Davis and LeBron James in the next season. It is clear that James has only two years left with the Lakers as per the current contract. Also, it is not sure when the king will retire. Therefore, making the right choice while picking talents is a crucial task for the Lakers.
The search for players can obviously take the Lakers anywhere. From present performing players to the past teammates, anyone who can fit with LeBron James in the upcoming games. However, when you are talking business you must keep your emotions aside. Thus, the Lakers must not consider two former teammates of LeBron to keep him happy, rather the Lakers must avoid signing them.

Unrestricted free agent and former teammate – Matthew Dellavedova.

Matthew Dellavedova
Considering the fact that Matthew played with LeBron James in Cavaliers, he can be a good fit. However, there are some more things to be taken care of, before letting him in. If we look at his stats, he scored 2.8 points and 4.5 assists in 17.2 minutes per game. I don’t think that the Lakers want someone with that kind of stats. He may be a former friend but his performance is not up to the mark.

The one who played with LeBron James in the Lakers itself – DeMarcus Cousins.

Demarcus Cousins
The former Lakers all-star DeMarcus Cousins also shares a good connection with the king. However, he was injured in the 2020 NBA season when he was actually playing with LeBron James in the Lakers. He can be another lead for the Lakers as he is an unrestricted free agent. But the Lakers must avoid him also considering the fact that he always struggles with injuries as per his track record.
