“That Sounds Like 2-4 Weeks Out”- Fans Brutally Troll Christian McCaffrey After ‘Chip on Shoulder’ Comments

In the 2017 NFL draft as the eighth pick of the first round, the Carolina Panthers chose Christian McCaffrey. At the time, McCaffrey had built a solid reputation for himself by playing for two years for Standford. ‘CMC’ was expected to hit the ground running and improve the run game of the Panthers who at the time were led by Cam Newton.

McCaffrey blossomed as a player and quickly established himself as one of the best running backs in the league at Carolina. However, as the saying goes ‘all good things must come to an end’ and the same was the case with McCaffrey and his time at the Panthers. 

Last week, McCaffrey was traded by the Panthers in exchange for several high draft picks from the 49ers. While speaking to the media, McCaffrey was asked if the move pissed him off. He said, “I understand this is a business, but anytime somebody gets rid of you or something happens, you take it personally. I’m so happy to be here, but yeah, absolutely [I am]. It’s part of the league. It happens to coaches, happens to players and it’s just more wood in the fire.”

Christian McCaffrey continued, “It’s just do my job the best I possibly can. I don’t try to put exterior pressure on me. I wanna win for this team, I wanna win for these guys, and I want to win for the whole Bay Area because they gave up a lot to get me and I know that. So, it’s not extra pressure, but there’s definitely a sense of urgency on my plate that I wanna win.”
