“That Shit Gives Me Unparalleled Confidence”- Tony Ferguson Reacts as the Rock Is Left Speechless After His Fight Against Michael Chandler at UFC 274
Thus far in his UFC career, Tony Ferguson has been nothing short of entertaining. ‘El Cucuy’ as he is known has put on some of the most memorable fights at lightweight against some of the very best to have ever competed in the UFC’s 155-pound weight class.
In his most recent outing, Ferguson was on the receiving end of one of the most devastating knockouts ever seen in the UFC. Michael Chandler became only the fourth person to secure a front kick knockout win at UFC 274 and bounced back from a two-fight skid in style.
Chandler’s knockout over Ferguson became viral instantly with it popping up everywhere on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as well. This attracted the attention of some of the biggest names not just in combat but in the entertainment sphere as well.

‘The Rock’ filmed his live reaction to the knockout while sipping on his tequila. The former WWE athlete tipped his hats off to both Chandler and Ferguson for putting on an electrifying performance. Praise from the rock was well received by ‘El Cucuy’ who responded to the post saying, “The Energy” knowing @TheRock watches our fights that shit gives me unparalleled confidence to get my self swole (that’s Latin for handsome) & make sure that shit don’t happen again. I’ll be ready Great 1st round, but all rounds need to be great- Champ -CSO-.”
Is this the end of the road for Tony Ferguson in the UFC?
Heading into the fight, Ferguson was on a three-fight skid. However, it was not the losses themselves, but the manner of the losses that had fans concerned about Ferguson. The likes of Justin Gaethje, Beneil Dariush, and Charles Oliveira completely dominated Ferguson from the very first bell and had him severely hurt multiple times.
Dana White assured fans that Ferguson was not competing for his UFC future against Chandler. However, given the manner of his most recent loss and the fact that he is 38-years-old the UFC brass will be seriously considering how many more chances Ferguson is given before he is stopped for his own good.
