Texans Star Praises Head Coach DeMeco Ryans For Transforming The Team’s Culture

Coach DeMeco Ryans, according to Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil, has given the Houston Texans a completely new energy.

Despite their previous struggles, the Houston Texans are hopeful for the 2023 season after making some summer adjustments. Laremy Tunsil, a star offensive lineman, claimed that the squad is feeling different than in previous seasons.

Texans Star Praises Head Coach DeMeco Ryans For Transforming The Team’s Culture

DeMeco Ryans is the new head coach in Houston, while C.J. Stroud is the new quarterback.

Laremy Tunsil, a left tackle in the Pro Bowl, spoke extensively on Friday afternoon’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show. After a strong performance during the required minicamp in June, Tunsil became the most recent person to compliment rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud, who had more first-team repetitions than his predecessor Davis Mills, played with Tunsil for the first time during the two-day practice.

But DeMeco Ryans’ tenure as the Texans’ head coach was also revealed to Tunsil for the first time during the required workouts at the Houston Methodist Training Center. Ryans, in Tunsil’s words, has given NRG Stadium “a whole new vibe.”

“It’s a whole new vibe, man,” Tunsil said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “[Coach] DeMeco [Ryans] came in with that energy he brought from San Fran and just changed the whole vibe around the building, and that’s something that we needed, especially since these last past three years we’ve been in a rut. So DeMeco comes in the building, he brought some new coaches, we’ve got some new players. Man, it’s just a whole new vibe that’s in that building. It feels great to be there.”

When one of your top players compliments the new head coach, it’s always a positive indication.

Laremy Tunsil is also correct; good change would be advantageous for the Texans.

The entire Deshaun Watson scandal cast a shadow over the company. But now that he’s gone, Houston can concentrate on reclaiming the top spot in the AFC South.

The Texans’ enthusiasm is growing, and Laremy Tunsil’s remarks on DeMeco Ryans are simply the icing on the cake.

In August 2019, he was traded to Houston from the Miami Dolphins, joining a playoff-caliber squad that had won 10 games and gone to the Divisional Round of the postseason.

But the Texans have won only 11 games in the last three seasons since starting a rebuild after their 51-31 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Texans finished last in the AFC South last year with the second-worst record in the league (3-13-1). The Texans had to make some significant adjustments to shift the direction they were headed in, and according to Tunsil, these changes are having the desired effect.
