Tennis Star Serena Williams Welcomed Her Second Daughter At The Age Of 41
The newest addition to Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams’ family has arrived.
The 41-year-old tennis legend shared the wonderful news in a TikTok video on Tuesday, announcing that she and her husband had welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Adira River.
Williams captioned the picture with the phrase “Welcome my beautiful angel,” paraphrasing words from the Bazzi song “Beautiful,” which was playing in the background of the clip.

The couple, who wed in 2017, were first shown seated at a table together before being joined by Olympia, their firstborn child, who was shown in the video cuddling up to Williams.
Williams briefly stepped away from the table at that point before coming back with the happy couple’s new addition.
The newborn was given a kiss by her older sister, and the family was beaming as they watched her.

Williams made her second pregnancy public in May when she appeared at the Met Gala in New York City sporting a baby bump and Ohanian, 40, by her side.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us,” Williams posted at the moment, along with images of the couple on the red carpet, on Instagram.
In a video titled “Olympia’s Surprise” later that month, the 23-time Grand Slam champion also discussed her daughter’s response to the information.

I ask, “Are you kidding me?” Olympia’s parents were queried. Oh my God, I’m so happy right now.
Two months prior to their wedding in New Orleans on November 16, 2017, Williams and Ohanian had Olympia in September of that same year.
In an earlier interview, Williams disclosed that she “almost died” after giving birth to Olympia.

Williams detailed how her daughter was delivered via emergency C-section in a 2018 CNN.com opinion piece after her heart rate suddenly fell during labor.
After her surgery, Williams revealed that she had experienced “six days of uncertainty,” which started with a pulmonary embolism, a condition in which a blood clot blocks one or more arteries in the lungs.

Williams talked about the prospect of growing her family in a cover story for Vogue the previous year.
“We recently got some information from my doctor that put my mind at ease and made me feel that whenever we’re ready, we can add to our family,” she said at the time.
