Tennessee Titans to Get a Glimpse Into Their Future as Malik Willis Is Set to Replace Ryan Tannehill for Game Week Eight
The Tennessee Titans will get a glimpse into what their future might look like this weekend. In the 2022 NFL draft as the 86th pick in the third round, the Titans selected Malik Willis, a quarterback out of Liberty University. After being on the sidelines so far in his NFL career, Willis will get a chance to start a first full game this weekend against the Houston Texans.

Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be unavailable on Sunday due to an ankle injury and an illness. Tannehill had started 49 straight games since replacing Marcus Mariota in 2019 but the streak stops there, for one week it is Malik time.
Luckily for Mallik, he is facing arguably the worst team in the league right now. This will give him a very good chance to showcase his skills. While this might not be the best test of his skills, it certainly will show the Titans front office if he has what it takes to not only survive in the NFL but also lead the Titans in the future. Willis took part in all the practice sessions leading up to the game against the Texans and was put through all the quarterback drills.

The former Liberty QB has the ability to run and create plays on his own while scrambling away from defensive pressure, making him a dual threat that could prove tough on opposing defenses already worried about Derrick Henry in the backfield.
A closer look at the Tennessee Titans and Malik Willis
Six games into the new season, the Tennessee Titans are 4-2. Their two losses came at the hands of red-hot Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants. The game against the Texans should be yet another win for Mike Vrabel and his men.

Apart from their success on field this season, last week the Tennessee Titans revealed plans of building a new stadium for themselves. The domed stadium will cost a whopping $2.1 billion and is expected to host the Titans in the 2026 season. The Titans have a lot to look forward to in the future and they will be hoping that Malik Willis is a part of their future plans.
