Tennessee State Staffer Ariel Escobar Rammed Team’s Running Back With Car And Ketchup

A female employee of the Tennessee State football team is accused of ramming her automobile into a player’s car out of extreme jealousy. Devon Starling told Davidson County authorities in the early hours of December 3 that Tigers director of football operations and on-campus recruitment Ariel Escobar struck his vehicle while he and his girlfriend were inside.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the university employee later told police that she wanted Starling to tell his fiancée that he and Escobar had a “sexual relationship.”

Escobar is said to have followed Starling’s car outside of his apartment complex, which prompted him to call the police. Starling returned and parked his car after circling for a while.

The 22-year-old staff member allegedly acknowledged to flinging ketchup and scratching Starling’s flat door as well, according to the police.

According to court documents, Ariel Escobar is accused of two felonies for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor for vandalism. In January, she is expected to appear in court. Escobar is in her second year as the football operations and on-campus recruiting director at TSU.

Officials from TSU stated in a statement that the university “is aware of an employee’s arrest and takes the claims related to the incident seriously.”

“TSU is unable to comment on particular personnel matters or matters that may violate student privacy regulations,” they continued. There won’t be any further commentary from us at this time.”

Ariel Escobar was freed from detention on a $7,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on January 9. She did not respond to a request for comment from DailyMail.com.

Although Tennessee State is aware of her arrest, it is making no comments at this time.

According to a school statement, “TSU is unable to comment on particular personnel matters or matters that may implicate student privacy laws.” At this time, we are unable to comment further.

According to her Wikipedia article, Ariel Escobar has a modest professional history that includes working in a similar capacity for the San Jose State football team and as an intern for the NFL’s Chicago Bears.

Starling, a previous co-freshman of the year in the Ohio Valley Conference, has tallied 540 yards and a touchdown on 116 carries so far this year. He also added another touchdown and 221 yards on 16 catches.
