Pittsburgh’s offensive has to improve, and their team chemistry may need to improve as well. George Pickens, the Steelers’ second-year wide receiver, was noticeably agitated after the loss and vented on social media.

Pickens, 22, had five receptions for 36 yards in the game, which the Steelers defeated by a score of 30-7.

Regarding Pickett’s performance, Steelers supporters will be especially disappointed given the apparent development he exhibited in the preseason and anticipation that the team will return to the playoffs this year. Pickett, on the other hand, completed 31 of 46 throws for 232 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the 49ers.

Pickett and the passing game aren’t solely to blame for the offense’s woes, as running backs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren combined for only nine attempts and 37 yards.

The Steelers were steamrolled by the 49ers in Week 1 for a variety of reasons.

The team’s inability to establish a passing game and having more completions below the line of scrimmage than completions of 10-plus yards. The Steelers were overhyped in the preseason and had a harsh reality check when they faced a great NFL defense. Canada, Matt.

On his most recent Instagram post, Pickens liked a comment from a user saying, “Nobody to get that man the ball tho”, a little dig at Kenny Pickett and his inability to command the Steelers’ passing attack.

Pickett, who was selected by the Steelers as the 20th overall choice in the 2022 NFL draft out of the University of Pittsburgh, started 12 games and won seven of them in his rookie season. He completed 63% of his throws for 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 13 total appearances.

Pickens had been working on his yards-after-catch abilities in the offseason, and ex-Steeler Ryan Clark praised him, calling him “more talented” than Justin Jefferson. Pickens couldn’t even get Pickett to look his way when Jefferson was gaining 100 yards in a single half in Week 1.
