Takeo Spikes Slams Bills For Bringing Him Just To Put Him On Timeout
Takeo Spikes was welcomed to the Bills’ second game of the season as a legend, but he didn’t appear to be treated as such.
The former Bills linebacker, who played for the organization from 2003 to 2006, was unhappy with his seating arrangement during the team’s Week 2 victory over the Raiders and departed early, he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The 46-year-old notified the club that he did not remain for the full game because his seats made him feel like he was “in timeout.”
“Congrats to @BuffaloBills for getting a dominant win in home opener,” Spikes wrote. “I wish I could’ve stayed for the entire game but seating [accommodations] were NOT the standard. How you gonna have the @NFLLegends supporting with this obstructed sample size of a view!? Felt like I was in timeout.”
Sorry, but going on X with your beef isn’t classy, it narcissistic …https://t.co/08gKCozeRx

Given the abundance of VIP seats available in NFL stadiums, it’s an odd decision by the Bills.
Despite the terrible karma of sitting Spikes in the nosebleeds, the Bills defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 38-10 in front of their home fans, improving their record to 1-1.

Following their defeat to the New York Jets in Week 1, the Bills were able to right the ship against the Raiders on Sunday, led by quarterback Josh Allen, who completed 31 of 37 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the 13th pick in the 1998 draft, Spikes played in the National Football League for 15 seasons, making stops in Cincy, Buffalo, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and San Diego.
