Patrick plays tight end and is 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds. As a college senior, Justin was described as 6 feet 6 inches tall and 237 pounds.
Outstanding quarterback Justin Herbert spent four years at Oregon from 2016 to 2019 until the Chargers chose him sixth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. In Eugene, the Herbert family business has certainly been carried on by Patrick Herbert.

Patrick Herbert, who enrolled at Oregon as a true freshman in 2019. He appeared in a game against Nevada but otherwise took a redshirt that season, not spending much time on the field with his brother.

Patrick Herbert was seen to be a greater prospect than his now-NFL star brother when they were both fresh out of high school. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Justin Herbert, the No. 648 overall prospect and No. 25 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class, was rated as a three-star quarterback. On the other side, Patrick Herbert, a four-star tight end prospect, was ranked No. 231 overall and No. 8 among tight ends, in the 2019 class. Both went to Sheldon High in Eugene, Ore.
At tight end for the Ducks, Patrick Herbert is without a doubt the starter. In the first five games, he has already exceeded his reception total from the previous season with six catches for 66 yards.
