Sydney Leroux ‘Wait to talk s–t’ And Made Netherlands Out Of Conversation

The Conversation finally has the direction of Sydney Leroux.

In response to Lineth Beerensteyn of the Netherlands criticising the Americans for talking excessively before their Women’s World Cup exit on Sunday with a Round of 16 loss to Sweden, the former member of the United States Women’s National Team, who currently competes for Angel City FC in the NWSL, clapped out at her.

“From the first moment I heard they were out I was just thinking, ‘Yes, bye,’” Prior to the Netherlands’ play against Spain on Friday, Beerensteyn, whose nation drew their match against the United States in the group round, stated.

In response to the Netherlands’ 2-1 defeat to Spain, Leroux made fun of Beerensteyn on Twitter.

“One thing we’ve learned is wait to talk s–t until after you’re on the podium with a gold medal because now… you’re bye too,”  Lereoux wrote

Prior to the Netherlands vs. Spain game, Beerensteyn concentrated heavily on the USWNT.

From the start of the tournament, they had already really big mouths and were already talking about the final,” she said.

“I was thinking you first have to show it on the pitch before you talking (big). I’m not being rude in that way, I still have a lot of respect for them, but now they’re out of the tournament — and for me, it’s a relief, and for them it’s something they will have to take with them in the future.”

“Don’t start to talk about something that is far away. I hope they will learn from that,” Beerensteyn said.

She participated in the entire 120 minutes as Spain defeated the Netherlands in the quarterfinal game after extra time.

In the 106th minute, the Juventus attacker went down on the pitch after nearly missing a goal to give his team a 2-1 advantage.

It was a far different response from her joy at the USWNT being eliminated from the 2023 World Cup, which was the tournament’s earliest elimination ever.

Beerensteyn played for the Netherlands team that fell to the Americans in the 2019 World Cup final, which was the USWNT’s second consecutive victory after defeating Japan in 2015. The Americans won the tournament by a score of 2-0.

This time, Netherlands’ team performed better in group play.

The United States’ second-place squad will play Sweden in the quarterfinal stage after Netherlands won Group E.

In a heartbreaking penalty kick loss to Sweden, the U.S.

The USWNT’s chances of winning a third straight championship were ended when Sweden’s game-winning penalty kick only “millimetre” above the line before being knocked aside by goalie Alyssa Naeher.
