“Still Relevant at Old Age”: Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant Drops Ultimate LeBron James Truth Bomb
LeBron James and Kevin Durant, two of basketball’s most formidable players, have not played since 2018. James and Durant, who competed in the NBA Finals in both 2017 and 2018, haven’t seen each other since Christmas of 2018. Their teams have met each other several times over the past few seasons, but Durant and James have missed each of those games due to one or both of their ailments. After Sunday’s loss to the LA Lakers for the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant discussed his rivalry with LeBron James.
Due to a left adductor strain injury, LeBron James was unable to suit up and take on Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. Basketball fans once again lost the chance to see two of the best players in history share the court and fight it out.
Kevin Durant discusses not playing LeBron James for 3 years
Kevin Durant said: “I wasn’t thinking about it until ya’ll started bringing it up. He’s obviously a top-2 player, top-3 player to ever play the game, so it’s always gonna be excitement whenever he steps on the floor. We’ve been around for so long, that people have seen so many battles between us two at the highest stage, that people look forward to it. So it’s cool that we’re still relevant at an old age.”

LeBron was questionable to play on Sunday night against the Brooklyn Nets after sustaining a groin injury in a previous game against the LA Clippers. When questioned about it, Durant remarked that while LeBron’s absence makes life easier for the Nets, he would still want to play against him one more.
At this time, both players had been active for at least 15 years. However, they have remained among the league’s best players and compete for titles virtually every year. Fans will be hopeful that the two can share the court soon and regularly during the upcoming seasons because James may be reaching the conclusion of his brilliant career.
