“still a fan” said Britney Spears as she and Victor Wembanyama sorted out everything between them

After video evidence revealed that Britney Spears was the one who unintentionally hit herself in the face, she is now acknowledging that she may have overreacted just a little bit too much.

The strange incident happened on Wednesday night when Spears attempted to approach Victor Wembanayama, the top selection in this year’s NBA Draft, at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas.

You’re all familiar with the plot by this point: Spears gently tapped Victor’s shirt to try to get his attention. Britney Spears reported the incident to the police after his bodyguard allegedly struck her in the face and caused her glasses to fall off.

Spears is now singing a different tune, though, after a video was published yesterday that refuted her earlier Instagram post and demonstrated that she hit herself when the security guard pulled her hand back. (The Las Vegas Police Department agreed – they announced that no charges would be filed against the security guard).

Brittany was in a different phase

“I wasn’t aware of that at the time … all people could hear was me saying f—k you all … which was WAY BETTER THAN HITTING HIM BACK!!!” Before acknowledging that her response was “priceless,” Spears admits that it was also “bad.”

As a strong supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, I just want to write and tell you that everything is fine and not to worry. We still have your back and know why you were initially angry. Let’s leave the blocking to Victor on the court as far as Victor’s security is concerned, shall we?

In a later statement, Spears used her experience touring with NSYNC as an example and asserted that she had never witnessed a security guard attack another person. “I’ve been working in the industry for years and have been with some of the most famous people in the world. NSYNC at one point were like The Beatles … girls would throw themselves at them everywhere we went … not one time in my life has a security guard ever hit another person!” she wrote.

The vocalist of “Oops I Did It Again,” abruptly changed her tone in her message from an “Oops, my bad!” reaction to something far more somber.

She starts comparing her predicament and the public response to the horrible 13-year conservatorship she endured under her father Jamie Spears, who effectively held her captive. “I have felt helpless in most situations, Spears began, and my experience in Vegas and my reaction was a cry out on all levels. I will say it !!!” Spears then continues: “I don’t feel like I have been treated as an equal person in this country … of course when I watched the video myself … the people who actually swarmed around me when they heard me get hit made me feel like I mattered !!!”

However, she concludes that she is “still a fan” of Victor, which I’m sure makes him feel enormous relief after this whole event. And while Britney had every right to be angry because she believed that someone had physically hit her, which is never acceptable regardless of who you are, it appears that she is starting to move on from the incident because she closed her post with the phrase “Shit happens!”
