Steve Kerr Condemns Bulls Fans For Booing Towards Late GM Krause
Fans jeered late general manager Jerry Krause during the Chicago Bulls’ first-ever Ring of Honor ceremony on Friday night, causing his wife to cry. Bulls broadcaster Stacey King and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr were among those who called out the crowd’s behaviour.

The Bulls announced back in December that the inaugural class of their new Ring of recognize would recognize 13 club luminaries in addition to the complete 1995–96 championship squad. The inauguration was scheduled for Friday night when Kerr and the Warriors were in town, capping a three-day event that took place from January 10–12.

The purpose of the celebration was to honor the legendary Bulls squad from 1995–96, which Kerr had played a key role in. Bulls supporters in the stadium were not too fond of the team’s homage to their late general manager, Jerry Krause, as seen by the jeers they received.
But a controversial event during the ceremony took center stage. Warriors coach Steve Kerr called the act “shameful.”
However, Steve Kerr is right to be upset in this situation, unlike Gregg Popovich, who lost it when Spurs supporters jeered former star Kawhi Leonard, who left the organization to pursue greater financial rewards. When the widow of Jerry Krause took his ring in memory of her late husband, the Bulls supporters heckled her and even brought her to tears.

I mean I almost have to give an exasperated chuckle at just how absurd the booing Bulls fans were. Come on, people. Regardless of how irrational (or inebriated) you may be, we cannot pursue the spouses of former coaches and players. Family is off limits — I mean you made the woman weep.
One of the first players to address the fans’ conduct was King, who was chosen by Krause in 1989 and went on to win three titles with the Bulls from 1991 to 1993. King currently does color commentary for the club.
“We just had a remarkable ceremony, bringing back the legends and I’m telling you what,” stated King. “Chicago is a sports town and what we witnessed today when Jerry Krause’s name was called, and the people that booed Jerry Krause and his widow, who was accepting this honor for him, it was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I hurt for that lady, it brought her to tears. Whoever booed her in this arena should be ashamed of themselves… that was really classless and I was disappointed in the people that booed.”

Even though he wasn’t in the stadium to hear the jeers, Kerr voiced his amazement and dismay at the incident in a post-game speech.
“I was backstage during the tribute and only heard about the unwarranted booing afterward,” shared a disappointed Kerr with reporters. “It’s disgraceful.
Why don’t Bulls fans like Jerry Krause?
To put it plainly, Chicagoans do not much like Krause, the Bulls’ general manager from 1985 to 2003. Jordan held a deep dislike for him and is commonly held accountable for Jackson’s 1998 departure, which sparked the end of the team’s dynasty.
Loser Chicago Bulls fans show why the city is falling apart as they booed Jerry Krause widow despite him giving them 6 Championships.
