Stephen A. Smith Rips Jason Whitlock For Calling His Stories Made Up

Jason Whitlock and Stephen A. Smith have been at odds for a long time. Whitlock recently threatened to “expose” Smith and Shannon Sharpe as the former NFL star was leaving Fox Sports. Whitlock charged that they were fabricating tales to support the notion that FS1 “pushed out” Sharpe as opposed to firing him.

Stephen A. Smith Rips Jason Whitlock For Calling His Stories Made Up

Straight Shooter: A Memoir of Second Chances and First Takes, Smith’s most recent book, was just published. She is currently touring to promote it worldwide.

However, Jason Whitlock questions the veracity of several of the stories in Smith’s book. His main complaint is Smith’s assertions on his basketball careers in high school and college.

Whitlock had been quiet for weeks, but he was back at it. His podcast, “Fearless with Jason Whitlock,” included an entire episode devoted to dispelling the “Stephen A. Myth.” Whitlock made fun of Smith’s high school basketball exploits, among other things.

Using it as a springboard, he went on to propose that if Smith is lying about his basketball career, what else would he be lying about?

Whitlock remarked of Smith, “These stories are being told by someone who doesn’t have a fundamental understanding of sports.” “How did he get hired by ESPN?”

“This is someone completely comfortable with lies and exaggeration.”

When the ESPN sports presenter had had enough, he viciously attacked Whitlock for many minutes. One particularly noteworthy comment was (via Ant):

“Did you tell them how you stood outside, outside of First Take, begging me to talk to you? Did you tell them that once the same article in Deadspin came out, weeks later, you wrote a lengthy apology to me in an email, begging me to forgive you, pointing out how you were betrayed by this particular writer, so you know how I must feel that you betrayed me?

Though it doesn’t take much to enrage Stephen A. Smith, Jason Whitlock’s remarks must have hurt.

However, Jason Whitlock hasn’t given any assurances. He could keep aiming his shots at Smith. It’s a wonder if the host of “First Take” can sit through Whitlock’s shots. It’s unlikely that the two have finished their public feud yet.
