Steelers OC Matt Canada Under Suspicion Of Using A Burner Account

Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is already in hot water with his teammates after his boss Mike Tomlin said, “Hell yes, there’s going to be changes” after their 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Steelers OC Matt Canada Under Suspicion Of Using A Burner Account

But, the day after the Steelers’ 24-point loss to the now-2-2 Texans, the Steelers’ assistant faces further scrutiny in the form of his reported participation with one burner account.

Fans are accusing the beleaguered Steelers offensive coordinator, 51, of using a burner account, with one Pittsburgh-centric page going to great efforts to put the hypothesis to the test.

On Tuesday, the X account @PickensBurgh posted a video featuring messages from a user called @DannyFootball77, who isn’t following anyone and posted positive thoughts on Canada as he continues to draw the ire of the fanbase.

On Monday evening, NFL analyst Benjamin Ehrlich was caught trying to interpret the email of @DannyFootball77’s X (previously known as Twitter) account, which has become notorious for clapping back at Steeler detractors.

Ehrlich proceeded through the account’s “forgot password” procedure. That strategy fueled speculation that the current Steelers offensive coordinator is behind the account.

“Steeler Nation found a new scapegoat. Wonder how long it’ll be until the next guy is on the hot seat,” @DannyFootball77 wrote in one message.

Another post said: “So the o line is an excuse for [Steelers quarterback] Kenny’s [Pickett] struggles but the OC is expected to turn water into wine. That makes sense.”

The whispers about Canada come on the heels of the Steelers’ disappointing defeat to the Texans on Sunday, in which they failed to score a touchdown.

One expert, though, raised a concern about the dubious email associated to @DannyFootball77: the Steelers finish their email addresses with steelers.nfl.com, not steelers.com. Here at Pro Football Network, we can confirm that this is the email format used by the Steelers — and other NFL clubs — for their workers.
