Steelers Najee Harris Speaks Out On His Lack In Preseason

One of the league’s newest offences is that of the Pittsburgh Steelers. George Pickens, Kenny Pickett, and Najee Harris are all starting their second seasons, while Najee Harris is starting her third.

Steelers Najee Harris Speaks Out On His Lack In Preseason

Najee had a strong debut season, but after recovering from an injury, he slightly regressed in 2022.

Throughout the preseason, Harris hasn’t received a lot of work. Najee recently made an effort to allay any worries among followers, despite the fact that this would induce anxiety.

In the preseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers running backs have excelled, but starter Najee hasn’t. Harris has accumulated 5 yards on 3 touches in this year’s first two preseason games.

Najee hasn’t even really touched the field, to his defence. In Week 1 of the preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he only participated in 4 plays. On August 19, Harris lined up for 5 snaps against the Buffalo Bills.

Harris told the reporters after the game against the Bills that his lack of playing time this month was intentional.

Harris seems to have faith in Tomlin and his team, thinking they are looking out for his best interests.

“We came in with a plan,” Harris said, via The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly. “I talked to Coach T at the start of camp. I am following Coach T.

“Whatever he says, goes.”

Najee did not disclose coach Mike Tomlin’s whole game plan, but it is likely that the Steelers will again use Harris extensively during the regular season. Given this, it is pointless to subject his body to undue strain throughout the preseason.

Around the Steelers organization, particularly in relation to Jaylen Warren, there has been a lot of chatter. Harris might lose some playing time to Warren, who is seen to be a fantastic supplementary back.

Harris has been a fine running back while active, but the Steelers may give Warren more opportunities if he has a poor start to 2022.

Additionally, they missed the playoffs the previous year, which may be a factor in the adjustments.
