Following the offense’s continued troubles, which were evident in their most recent game against the Cleveland Browns when they managed only 10 points and showed inefficiency in the passing game, the Pittsburgh Steelers fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada on Tuesday.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero tweeted the first image of the news drop along with the words, “Gametime on the way,” and an emoji of a bee, or “AB.”
The Steelers are aggressively looking for a new offensive coordinator on a full-time basis in light of Canada’s departure, and Antonio Brown, a former wide receiver for the team, has shown interest in the role.

At the very least, Brown’s never-ending effort is noteworthy. Regretfully, it is unlikely that they would give him any real consideration for the position. Therefore, it’s probably safe to assume that the Steelers won’t give their mysterious former wideout the keys to the offense very soon.
Brown has been an outspoken critic of Canada on social media during his time there, echoing the views of many Steelers supporters who have long demanded that Canada be fired. Given the circumstances surrounding his departure from the organization, Brown is unlikely to take over as offensive coordinator, but he doesn’t back down from dreaming.

Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled greatly this season; they rank 28th in points per game. Both throwing yards and touchdowns rank them 31st. This season, they have been outscored in every game because their defense has given up the seventh-fewest points per game.
With 22 career starts, quarterback Kenny Pickett has 13 touchdowns to 13 interceptions, demonstrating little discernible growth under Canada’s tutelage. In just 10 of those starts, Pickett’s quarterback rating has over 80.
