Star Tackle Taylor Lewan Out For the Season, Possible That He Doesn’t Return to Tennessee Titans Ever – END OF AN ERA?
The Tennessee Titans picked Taylor Lewan with the eleventh overall choice in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Lewan was selected for three straight Pro Bowls from 2016 to 2018 during his time in the NFL.
Taylor Lewan, the Titans’ left tackle, has already ruled himself out of Sunday’s game against the Raiders. But it is now obvious that he won’t participate in 2022. For one of the finest left tackles in sports, this is bad news.

When you sustain a non-contact knee injury, it’s always a reason for worry, as we saw Monday night when Lewan was injured. He simply appeared to collapse, and you could tell something was wrong.

Tyler Lewan out for the season and could be done with the Titans
The reports from last week were encouraging; they said that he was walking without a limp or using any crutches. Will Compton, the founder of Barstool, even announced that he was traveling to Los Angeles for a second evaluation.

The specific injury was not made public. Lewan’s season-ending knee injury has occurred twice in the previous three years. In 2020, his ACL was torn. Lewan, a first-round selection in 2014, has played with the Titans his whole career. 100 of his 105 games have seen him start.
Lewan’s loss is difficult because this may have been his final performance as a Titan. He is 31 years old, no longer a spring bird, and has spent the last three seasons dealing with ailments and a PED ban.

Since he hasn’t played a full 16 games since 2017, the Titans may save $14.8 million if they release him next season. Taylor Lewan’s potential departure from the team is unavoidable given his $14.8 million cap hit for the next season and the absence of any dead cap space. The end of an era could be near.
