The NBA’s top draft selection paid tribute to legendary competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut on social media during the Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating competition on Tuesday.

Wembanyama refers to Chestnut as the “most dominant athlete of all time” on his Instagram story.
Chestnut defeated 15 competitors by gobbling down 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes. He finished 63 hot dogs to win the previous year. Wembanyama wasn’t present to witness the events because he wasn’t in the country at the time. Nevertheless, he shown respect for a rival competitor.

Chestnut established a record in 2021 by consuming 76 hot dogs, which is still valid today. At least seventy hot dogs had been consumed by him. Chestnut consumed 1,152 hot dogs in total during the competition from 2005 to 2022. He received 682.5 more hot dogs as a result than any rival.
