The San Antonio Spurs are hoping that NBA player Victor Wembanyama develops into Joey Chestnut. Given what Victor Wembanyama said about Chestnut winning the 2023 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, the No. 1 choice in the NBA Draft may find the analogy to be quite favorable.

Spurs Victor Wembanyama Names Joey Chestnut As The “most dominant athlete”

The NBA’s top draft selection paid tribute to legendary competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut on social media during the Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating competition on Tuesday.

Wembanyama refers to Chestnut as the “most dominant athlete of all time” on his Instagram story.

Chestnut defeated 15 competitors by gobbling down 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes. He finished 63 hot dogs to win the previous year. Wembanyama wasn’t present to witness the events because he wasn’t in the country at the time. Nevertheless, he shown respect for a rival competitor.

Chestnut established a record in 2021 by consuming 76 hot dogs, which is still valid today. At least seventy hot dogs had been consumed by him. Chestnut consumed 1,152 hot dogs in total during the competition from 2005 to 2022. He received 682.5 more hot dogs as a result than any rival.

Fans have said that Wembanyama needs to gain weight ever since he became a potential NBA player. His thin build has drawn criticism frequently, and many have suggested that it may be the cause of his decline in the league.
