Sickening Video Shows Cowboys Fans Throwing Stuff at an Injured Dak Prescott While Being Escorted off the Field Agains the Buccaneers

After a disastrous start to their NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys are set to face yet another setback as their star quarterback Dak Prescott is set to be unavailable for 6-8 weeks according to recent reports.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, “A timeline from overnight: Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott is scheduled to have surgery on his right thumb today and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Multiple sources told ESPN’s @toddarcher.”

The Cowboys faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their season opener and succumbed to a 19-3 loss to Tom Brady and his men. Cowboys scored their fewest points in a season opener since Troy Aikman’s rookie season in 1989, when Jimmy Johnson was coaching his first career game in te NFL. Prescott injured his finger in the fourth quarter when he hit the hand of outside linebacker, Shaw Barrett while throwing a pass. According to multiple reports, Prescott will meet a specialist on monday but in all likelihood, he will have a pin and plate inserted into the area to stabilize the joint.

A major blow for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in the very first week of the new season

After the game against the Buccaneers, Prescott said, “I was told it was much cleaner than it could have been.” Cooper Rush will now start as the quarterback for the team with Will Grier as the QB3.

The last time Cooper played for the Cowboys was against the Vikings last season when Prescott was out injured. In that game, Rush he threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns in the 20-16 win against the Vikings. After taking over from Prescott last night, he completed 7-of-13 passes for 64 yards.

Dak Prescott shared his thoughts on his injury and return saying, “It’s very disappointing, but injuries happen, can’t necessarily control it, just unfortunate. Obviously going to miss some time, not be there for my team and that’s what hurts more than anything, especially after the start we just put out there….. But I’ll do what I’ve always done anytime adversity comes, take it on head-first and give my best and I’m sure I’ll come out of this thing better.”
