Ashley, Kelly’s wife, shared a video of herself opening their front door and seeing the car waiting in the driveway on Instagram on Saturday night. Ashley had gone a long way toward courting Ohtani for the Dodgers in free agency with her incredible #Ohtake17 campaign.

“It’s yours, from Shohei,” a man at the door says in the video. “He wanted to gift you a Porsche.”

Ashley Kelly used the hashtag #Ohtake17 in her social media recruitment pitches before Ohtani signed to the Dodgers. Some of them were ironic, such as calling their newborn son Kai ShoKai and giving him every item of equipment the family had that has the number 17.

Following the excited announcement in this follow-up video that she has taken all of the #17 clothing out of the house, Joe Kelly will now wear #99.

Earlier this month, Ohtani, who is regarded as baseball’s finest talent, signed a staggering 10-year, $700 million contract with the franchise.

Ashley Kelly had some fun with the news after Ohtani’s formal Dodgers signing and it was announced that Kelly would be giving up the jersey number he had worn for the previous three seasons.
