Shocking Situation in Brooklyn Nets as Eight Players Including Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to Miss Out the Next Game vs Pacers – Here’s Why

At the Barclays Center on Friday, the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Atlanta Hawks 120–116. On Saturday in Indiana, the Nets and Pacers will play. Injuries have plagued Brooklyn (15-12), which will be missing eight players for the crucial Eastern Conference matchup against the 14-12 Pacers, including Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Nic Claxton, Seth Curry, Ben Simmons, T.J. Warren, Royce O’Neal, and Joe Harris are all out for the Nets. Most absences, although not all, are brought on by injuries.

Over the last two weeks, the Brooklyn Nets have paid close attention to a number of players’ minute totals. Brooklyn will have virtually more guys on the bench than available to play before Saturday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers in Indiana, the second game of a back-to-back.

Why will Kevin Durant and co miss the game against Pacers?

The decision to have a significant rest day was reached by the squad on Saturday morning. After playing 36 minutes in the Nets’ victory against the Hawks on Friday, in which he scored a team-high 34 points, Kevin Durant, who is currently tied for fourth in the NBA in minutes played per game at 36.8 per game, is taking a break.

Players to miss out: Nic Claxton (right hamstring tightness), Seth Curry (left ankle – injury management), Kevin Durant (right knee – injury management), Joe Harris (left ankle – injury management), Kyrie Irving (left adductor tightness), Royce O’Neale (personal reasons), Ben Simmons (left knee/calf – injury management), and T.J. Warren (left foot – injury management)

Following his four-game absence due to a strained calf, the Nets have also been careful with Ben Simmons, especially when it comes to back-to-back games. On the other side, several of the younger Nets will have a great opportunity to capitalize on the mismatch.
