Serge Ibaka Song “Champion” Makes 35 Million Plays on Spotify
Song With 35 Million Streams
The Serge Ibaka tune Champion has amassed more than 35 million Spotify streams, joining the group of NBA players who have made the switch to music.
Serge Ibaka, a former NBA champion and current centre/forward for the Milwaukee Bucks , is outshining his competition both on and off the field.
If you didn’t already know, Ibaka has achieved Afrobeats artist status after his song “Champion” surpassed 35 million Spotify streams. With this achievement, Ibaka surpasses Damion ‘Dame DOLLA’ Lillard, whose song “Money Ball” previously held the record for the most Spotify streams by an active NBA player.

Last week, Ibaka’s debut album, “ART,” was made available. Ibaka’s venture into music is succeeding admirably, just like many of the things he has done since joining the NBA.
The lead track on Ibaka’s tape, “Champion,” which features French rapper Ninho as the voiceover, grabs attention. The song was launched in February 2021. However, since Ibaka’s project dropped, its popularity has increased on streaming services. One of the more well-known tracks from Ibaka’s debut 15-track album Art, which was published last week, is Champion, which was first made available in early 2021 and featured French rapper Ninho. Due to Ibaka’s Congolese heritage, the majority of the song (and album) is in French; yet, the sweet, sensual sounds of Afrobeats are undeniable, giving fans the familiar mood they have come to expect from some of the genre’s finest singers.

Essence Of The Song
“To live and die like a champion – the others didn’t even believe it, like an eagle I flew above the sky to feed the familia,” was the gist of what they said. This video interaction was filmed in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the basketball court that the Los Angeles Clippers Pivot Foundation has helped to build.
Serge Ibaka explains it as follows: “Many people succeed like me but forget where they come from. Art is a message for everyone, for children, to encourage others to give back.”
