“Send the Release”- Nate Diaz Responds to Dana White’s Comments as He Targets a Boxing Match Against Jake Paul
Fan favorite Nate Diaz is on the last fight of his current UFC contract. The younger Diaz brother has been in the UFC since 2007 and during that time has faced some of the very best the UFC has had to offer. Both the Diaz brothers have been huge fan favorites ever since they started their journey in the UFC. However, Nate Diaz’s win over Conor McGregor grew his stardom to a status very rarely achieved by fighters in the UFC.
In a recent interview, Dana White shared his thoughts on Nate Diaz wanting to be released by the UFC and potentially facing Jake Paul in a boxing match. He said, “I like Nate. Let’s be honest. Nate;’s won one fight in the last five or six years. … when these guys get into these positions, you got guys that have been with us for a long time, that we respect, that we care about … you got the Cerrones and Anthony Pettis before he left and you got… Nate Diaz.”
White continued, “And Nick Diaz is still under contract with us. So you want to be fair to everybody. … he probably should go on and fight Jake Paul. That’s a fight that makes sense.”

The UFC supremo’s comments got a response from both Nate Diaz as well as Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ said, “Dana – I’m happy to be Nate’s last fight in UFC. You know the terms: pay fighters more and give them healthcare.” He added, “Sweetener: I will fight for free.”
Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul the fight to make?
The Stockton native replied to White’s comment with a simple demand. He said, “Send the release”. ‘The Problem Child’ is set to return to action on August 6th at Madison Square Garden. However, at this point in time, an opponent is not finalized.
Given that Dana White is onboard with the idea, it would make sense for Nate Diaz to push for a fight against Jake Paul. The fight would be a big event and an even bigger payday for Diaz.
