Seattle Mariners: T-Mobile Park – How to Reach, Where to Park, Eat and Get Tickets
The Seattle Mariners are a professional baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. The team was established in 1977 as an expansion team and has since become an integral part of Seattle’s sports culture. Over the years, the Mariners have built a reputation for being a team that consistently develops and nurtures young talent while also competing at a high level.
One of the most notable moments in Mariners’ history occurred in 2001 when the team won 116 games in the regular season, tying the all-time record set by the 1906 Chicago Cubs. That year’s team featured several standout players, including Ichiro Suzuki, who won both the American League MVP and Rookie of the Year awards. Despite their regular-season success, the Mariners ultimately fell short in the playoffs, losing to the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series.
Since that historic season, the Mariners have struggled to consistently compete for postseason berths, with only a handful of playoff appearances in the years following 2001. However, the team has continued to focus on building through the draft and player development, and in recent years, has begun to see the results of those efforts.
