Sean Payton Dosen’t Hold Back, Asked Russell Wilson To ‘f–king stop kissing all the babies’

The Broncos recruited offensive genius Sean Payton as coach after a dismal 2022 with the hopes of bringing quarterback Russell Wilson back to Pro Bowl form.

Wilson missed out on the Pro Bowl for just the second time in his 11 NFL seasons last year after completing only 16 touchdown passes, a career low.

Wilson’s play needs improvement, but Payton is also concentrating on altering the quarterback’s style of play. According to Seth Wickersham of ESPN, Payton specifically thinks Wilson should return to concentrating on football after last season when he was too preoccupied with building his brand.

Wilson has received criticism frequently for putting so much emphasis on maintaining his image off the field.

“Will you f—ing stop kissing all the babies? You’re not running for public office,” Payton said to Wilson.

It’s no secret that Wilson has his sights set higher than merely the game’s reward.

Although many players have goals beyond simply winning, if they are successful, it typically doesn’t become a problem.

Wilson was mostly responsible for the poor aspects of last season, and properly so. The play was much below average, yet he is the quarterback. Payton believes the 34-year-old has to approach games very differently, even if he does not believe his problems are primarily related to his on-field performance.

Payton gave him a direct message about it.

Last season, Wilson recorded career lows in both touchdown passes (16) and QB rating (38.7).

According to rumors, Wilson received a little too much latitude during his first year in Denver.

According to a February article by The Athletic, Wilson was permitted to hire his own staff outside of the Broncos coaching staff.

He was also granted an office and a workplace.

In addition, some have objected to his off-field politics, which have in the past included visiting NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a suite.

Just before the ’22 season, Denver granted Wilson a sizable deal, making it tough for the organization to part ways with him should his performance worsen.

Since Denver only won five games in the previous season, Payton will have a lot on his plate in 2023. He will reportedly concentrate on Wilson as the club strives to make the playoffs in the AFC West.
