Saturday Night’s Chiefs-Dolphins Game Was One Of The Coldest

The 1967 NFL championship game, which saw the Packers defeat the Cowboys at Lambeau Field in a match that became known as the Ice Bowl, is still the coldest game in league history at minus-13. That day, the wind chill was negative 48 degrees. Saturday’s Chiefs-Dolphins game was one of the coldest!

Saturday Night’s Chiefs-Dolphins Game Was One Of The Coldest

On Saturday night, the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins played in the fourth-coldest NFL game ever. The game was made much colder before start by the brutal wind chills, and the event was attended by brave spectators dressed in parkas, snow pants, and ski goggles.

The wild-card playoff game was at minus-4 degrees Fahrenheit (minus-20 degrees Celsius), with a wind chill of minus-27 degrees due to gusts of up to 27 mph. That broke the record for the coldest game in the history of Arrowhead Stadium, which was 1 degree, established against Denver in 1983 and tied against Tennessee in 2016.

These are a few of my favorite chilly moments from a ridiculously chilly evening in Arrowhead.

Vendor’s bottle froze

Good luck attempting to grab a bottle of water at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday night during the AFC Wild Card round showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.

A stadium vendor posted a video of a water bottle freezing moments after being taken out of the refrigerator right before kickoff:

The Kansas City wild card game on Saturday is expected to be played in below-freezing conditions; in fact, the suite windows are so frozen that spectators are unable to see out of them.

Crazy Fan Goes shirtless in this temperature

During Saturday’s Wild Card Weekend matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs, one fan went above and above to show his team spirit.

Social media users took notice of a man who was shirtless at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, even though the temperature was below zero.

The furious fan at least donned a Dolphins beanie. It did two things: it kept his dome warm and it identified the team he was rooting for to passersby.

Some on X were truly concerned for the man’s health, while others found it amusing that the fan was sacrificing so much for the sake of sports passion.

Andy Reid’s Wife covered head to toe In fur

Perhaps the ultimate First Lady of Football, Andy Reid’s wife was down on the field at the end of the game.

Appearing like a French fur trader, she stepped into Arrowhead Stadium’s freezing tundra.

In all honesty, it doesn’t matter if that fur is fake or genuine. That’s what you want out of a Super Bowl-winning coach’s wife.

Taylor Swift’s Awkward Dance Moves

After a night of celebrating her boyfriend’s NFL playoff victory and heading out hand in hand, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appeared to squash any rumors that their romance is in trouble.

When it became evident at the conclusion of the game that the Dolphins had no chance whatsoever of winning, the Peacock crew exclaimed, “F–k it; it’s Taylor time.”

I shivered more each time I saw the four times they played this film of whatever dance they were performing in the stands than the Dolphins fan without a shirt.

Swift, Kelce’s mom Donna and Brittany Mahomes celebrated the win at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City by dancing together in the closing stages of the Chiefs’ 26-7 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Andy Reid’s moustache froze

In the first quarter, spectators were amused to see Andy Reid, the head coach of the Chiefs, with frostbite on his mustache.

The players can at least go about the field and maintain some degree of warmth. Reid is not the only one facing the weather on the sidelines; there is no way out for anybody else.
