San Francisco 49ers’ Elijah Mitchell RB: NFL Fantasy Data & Stats Speculations 2022

Player Outlook

Elijah Mitchell, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers who was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, became one of the biggest surprises in fantasy football as a rookie last season.

After making his debut against the Lions in Week 1, the Louisiana native established himself as the best running back in a crowded field and would have easily surpassed 1,000 yards if it weren’t for the six games he missed due to injury. The second-year playmakers’ trade secret is out, and he starts the season among the top 25 running backs in terms of average draught position.

In most leagues, Mitchell, a questionable No. 2 running back, should go no earlier than Round 5. We don’t feel much safer about Mitchell because the team recently used a Round 3 pick on Tyrion Davis-Price. Any running back in this scheme who receives 18 touches has a chance to go into the top 12 if Mitchell maintains his position as the starter and remains healthy.

The ideal situation would be for Mitchell to stay healthy and improve to a top-10 back in the league. As the club fights for a repeat trip to the NFC Championship Game, Mitchell might be a focal point of the explosive 49ers attack, which has weapons to spare. By the end of the regular season, we have a strong suspicion that Mitchell will be regarded as one of the finest running backs in the league.

He should excel in San Francisco’s attack and shouldn’t have too much trouble displacing Wilson as the number one running back. He now ranks as RB23 in ADP, giving you a great bargain in your selections.
