Saints WR Michael Thomas Under Arrest On The Charge Of Battery

According to WDSU in New Orleans, this is related to an altercation the wide receiver for the Saints had with a contractor in his neighborhood, which resulted in his being hauled away by police. The Saints affirmed that they were aware of the circumstances and that they were getting more details.

The contractor who got into the fight with Thomas, Luis Cifuentes, told WDSU that on Friday night, at about 5:30 p.m. local time, Thomas hurled two bricks at his vehicle and knocked him down.

Thomas has been charged with simple violence and criminal mischief, according to a statement issued by the Kenner police department. The victim said that Thomas started shouting at him for parking in front of his house and verbally threatened to hurt him.

After the victim started filming the event, Thomas became agitated and hurled a brick at the truck’s windshield, breaking little or nothing. The victim was then assaulted and informed he did not want to be videotaped by Thomas, who also knocked the phone out of his hands.”

If you commit simple battery in Louisiana, you might be fined “not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.” For criminal mischief, the penalty is that “whoever commits the crime of criminal mischief shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars, or be imprisoned for not more than six months in the parish jail, or both.”

Michael Thomas’ NFL career got off to an extraordinary start. He recorded an all-time high of 5,512 receiving yards and 470 catches over his first four seasons.

Regretfully, injuries started to happen, and they happened quickly. Thomas appeared in just 10 of the New Orleans Saints’ probable 50 regular season games from 2020 to 2022. This season, he has been healthy and has helped the squad, but his good fortune has ended.
