Russell Wilson Landing Spots: Is Giants A Potential Team For The Quarterback?
It seems like a matter of when rather than if Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos will get divorced.
Russell Wilson Landing Spots: Is Giants A Potential Team For The Quarterback?
When asked about a decision regarding Wilson’s future, Broncos coach Sean Payton stated, “I would anticipate it being within the next two weeks,” during the NFL Scouting Combine.
What’s next for the 35-year-old former Super Bowl winner is one of the major themes of the NFL offseason.

With a trio of quarterback prospects atop most draft boards, that leaves a handful of quarterback-needy clubs as possible prospective suitors for Wilson’s services.
Throwing for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 15 starts, Wilson led the Broncos to a 7-8 record in 2023.
Wilson is still capable of playing at a high level, but he is not the same player he was when he was a member of the Seattle Seahawks (2012–2021). Wilson was considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league at the time because he won a Super Bowl and was selected to nine Pro Bowls in a ten years.

Wilson’s signing won’t probably be as difficult as one may anticipate. If the Broncos cut Wilson this offseason, he is reportedly willing to accept a sizable pay cut and sign an NFL minimum contract. With their current $30 million in salary cap space this offseason, the Giants should have no trouble signing Wilson to a cheap contract.
However, he would be entering a quarterback room now led by the Giants’ $160-million man, Daniel Jones, and perhaps competing with him and another rookie quarterback in 2024. This may make New York a less enticing location for Wilson as he enters the last seasons of his career, hoping to continue playing as a starter.

Even though the 35-year-old quarterback is past his peak, there won’t be a shortage of suitors if Wilson is indeed on the move. Even while he is unlikely to ever again be the top fantasy field general, he may still be a strong No. 2 choice in the correct circumstances.
Wilson may have “a chance for a Super Bowl title” if he signs with New York, according to Brooks, despite the Giants’ lack of success in 2023. With a 6-11 record at the end of the 2023 season, Big Blue took third place in the NFC East and missed the playoffs for the fourth time in the previous five years.
