Russell Wilson Flown to LA Hours After Colts Game for Treatment; Reports Suggest He Has a Partially Torn Lat

Things have not been going well for Russell Wilson ever since his big-money move from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos. Wilson signed for the Broncos earlier this year on a whopping $245 million five-year contract. However, just five games into a new season, fans, and pundits are wondering if the Broncos made a big mistake by Wilson and Thursday night’s game against the Colts was a key factor in this discussion.

The Denver Broncos succumbed to a 12-9 loss against the Colts in what was an embarrassing display of football. Both Matt Ryan and Russell Wilson did not throw a single touchdown pass as the game was decided by field goals. After the game, fans took to social media to bash both the Denver Broncos and Russell Wilson and demanded they never get a prime time spot again.

After the loss, Wilson was given immediate medical attention for a nagging shoulder injury which had placed him on the injury report earlier this week. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Wilson flew to Los Angeles on Friday so he could receive a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection.

Wilson is reportedly dealing with a strained latissimus dorsi. This injury is apparently common for baseball players. Despite the pain in his shoulder, Wilson played every offensive snap in his team’s loss against the Colts. Reports suggest Wilson has a partially torn lat near his right shoulder.

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos need some serious changes

After the loss against the Colts, Wilson shared his thoughts on his performance. He said, “You’ve got to look at this, I’ve got to look at this and see where I can get better. I was battling, obviously, just the shoulder [injury] and all that and just trying to play quickly. We should have won that game. [We] should have won it. Like I said, it’s on me.”

Wilson continued, “The one thing that I know is I’ve gone through tough times before. I’ve gone through obstacles, I’ve gone through challenges, gone through highs as well as lows. A lot of highs, several lows, and I wasn’t ever getting discouraged ever,”
