Rumors Fly That Giants Is Aiming For QB J.J. McCarthy In NFL Draft 2024
SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that J.J. McCarthy, the quarterback for Michigan, is regarded by certain league insiders as “the player the Giants want.”
Though both Daniel Jones and Drew Lock are seasoned quarterbacks under contract, it can be argued that neither is the long-term solution at quarterback for New York, which still has multiple gaps in its lineup.
It came out that Drew Lock may not even be the starter for the #Giants:
On a introductory zoom meeting. Drew said:
"Daniel Jones is the starter of the team. That's been conveyed to me."
And there is rumors that the Giants might even draft J.J. McCarthy….

The quarterback class of this year is regarded as one of the strongest in recent memory, with Caleb Williams of USC, Jayden Daniels of LSU, and Drake Maye of North Carolina leading the way.
The Michigan product was praised by league sources Hughes contacted, with one senior executive stating he will be a “better pro than college player.”
McCarthy is seen as “very coachable” and fits the mold in terms of size, agility, arm power, and accuracy, according to a different general manager who spoke with Hughes.

Despite Daniel Jones being the starting quarterback right now, the Giants own the sixth choice in the draft and are said to be interested in choosing a quarterback.
Although it appears doubtful that either Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye would be available when the Giants had the opportunity to choose, Hughes recently reported that the Giants were high on both players.
The Minnesota Vikings now control the 11th and 23rd overall picks in the 2024 NFL draft after acquiring the Houston Texans’ No. 23 pick on Friday.

But if the Patriots reject trade proposals, the Vikings have enough ammunition to pass the Giants and move up to No. 4 or 5 in order to choose McCarthy.
With Jones and Lock at quarterback, the Giants don’t absolutely need to select one in the 2024 draft; yet, Jones could not be with the team for very long.
