Russell Wilson Claps Back At Eli Manning over Contract Joke .”Against Chad Powers, I’m 3-0″

Russell Wilson retaliated with a joke of his own when former NFL quarterback Eli Manning made fun of the Broncos’ quarterback during Monday Night Football by saying that the team “should have paid that punter $235 million instead of Russell.”

Chad Powers, oh? Wednesday, Wilson said. “Against Chad Powers, I’m 3-0.

The term “Chad Powers” refers to Manning, who recently went undercover as a college football player for a tryout at Penn State. The video, which was for Manning’s ESPN show, has subsequently gained popularity. During their careers, Wilson and Manning, who both played for the Giants from 2004 to 2019, did face off against one another three times, with Wilson going 3-0

What Did Manning Say To Russell?

Russell Wilson’s time with the Denver Broncos hasn’t gotten off to the explosive start many anticipated. Through three games, he has completed only 59% of his throws for 743 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Although the Broncos are 2-1, the offence has struggled to get going so far this year.

During ESPN’s Monday Night Football ManningCast, former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning made fun of Wilson’s subpar performance in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers. Regarding the $245 million deal extension the Broncos granted Wilson earlier this month, Manning claimed Denver should have “given that punter [Corliss Waitman] $235 million instead of Russell.” The video instantly went popular on social media.

A Fun Banter

However, Wilson’s retort to Manning is all in good fun. He still maintains close friendships with Manning and Peyton, Manning’s older brother, who played for the Broncos for four seasons.

Man, it’s just part of the game, Wilson remarked. “They’re just having fun, those boys. I have a lot of respect for those players, including Eli and Peyton. Those are the kind of men I’ve always admired. I’m not worried about it, then.”

Wilson has strangely drawn a lot of online criticism since being traded to the Broncos, though. Wilson has been the target of numerous internet memes while playing for the Broncos, whether it be for his catchphrase “Let’s Ride” or his new Subway commercial.
