It may be difficult to believe those remarks coming from the quarterback who is regarded as the greatest player in NFL history. But Rob Gronkowski is one former player who generally concurs with his judgment.

Rob Gronkowski Responds To Tom Brady’s NFL Critique: “mediocrity”

Tom Brady caused a stir earlier this week when he shared his opinions on the NFL’s current situation.

“I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL,” Brady stated. “I don’t see the excellence that I saw in the past.”

“The coaching isn’t as good as it was,” Brady continued. “I don’t think the development of young players is as good as it was. The rules have allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game. I just think the product, in my opinion, is less than what it’s been.”

Rob Gronkowski, Brady’s former longstanding teammate, offered his opinion on Wednesday morning on the renowned quarterback’s remarks made during his weekly visit on the “Up & Adams Show.”

“I would say he’s the only guy that could say that because he was just that consistent at putting a product out on the field every single day,” Gronkowski said. “We’re not just talking about when he was playing in the game. Also, the way he practiced, the way he went about himself in meetings, on the field. Whenever he had to deal with football, he was going all-out. The product he presented at all times was A-plus.”

Gronkowski continued by saying that, in his opinion, the NFL product as it exists now is the reverse.

“To this day, the product is inconsistent. You have a team blowing another team out 50-10 and then the next week, they get blown out,” Gronkowski said. “They win six games in a row, a very solid team we think is going to go undefeated like the 49ers, all of a sudden they lose three games in a row to not so good teams either.
