What is the Rivalry Series?

For the 2018–19 season, USA Hockey and Hockey Canada debuted the Rivalry Series. It provided a venue for the yearly meeting of the two dominant forces apart from other international tournaments.

Three games between the women’s national teams were played in the event’s first year. Canada won the matchup 2-1.

The next season, 2019–20, included five games with a series that spanned more than a single month. That year, Team USA dominated, winning four out of the five games.

Due to COVID-19, the series has not been played for the past two years.
