Rihanna At Super Bowl Halftime
The NFL made significant announcements during the first Sunday game slate. At the half-time performance of the upcoming Super Bowl, music legend Rihanna will perform.
The latest icon to be enlisted for what many consider to be the biggest sporting event of the year follows last year’s performance, which was hailed as one of the best ever and featured artists like Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar. Rihanna is now the latest icon to be enlisted for this year’s performance.

Rihanna is the headliner. The NFL just tweeted with formal confirmation! According to Jay-tweet, Z “Being a person of modest origins who has consistently outperformed expectations, Rihanna is a generational talent. a person who was raised on the tiny island of Barbados and went on to become one of history’s most well-known artists. Both in business and entertainment, self-made.”
The N.F.L. enters the first year of a new partnership with Apple Music as the principal sponsor of the halftime show, replacing Pepsi, and Rihanna will perform at the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12.

In solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, the former 49ers quarterback who has been without a team since becoming a free agent in March 2017, the musician declined offers to perform on football’s greatest platform. The declaration is an about-face for the singer. Due to Kaepernick’s protesting police brutality against Black people by kneeling during the national anthem, the league allegedly blackballed him.

While the singer has been concentrating on her business empire, which includes the Savage x Fenty lingerie brand and skin care and makeup lines that have contributed to her $1.7 billion net worth, as estimated in 2021 by Forbes, what would be Rihanna’s ninth studio album has acquired a near-mythic quality among fans, who frequently refer to it as “R9.”
