REVEALED: What Did NBA Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway Said? Why Did He Have to Apologize?
During the Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs game on Monday night, former NBA player Tim Hardaway said an ugly remark. During the “Run TMC” program, three former Warriors stars—Hardaway, Chris Mullin, and Mitch Richmond—were recognized. The Hall of Famer called the game’s play-by-play and served as an analyst. Unfortunately, his remarks can affect his broadcasting job in the long run.
This was a unique broadcast in the Bay Area because Kelenna Azubuike, a former Warrior, and Bob Fitzgerald typically serve as the play-by-play announcers.
Unfortunately, viewers got to hear Hardaway make a derogatory statement about a Draymond Green steal.

Tim Hardaway makes a distasteful statement
Here’s what Hardaway said: “So y’all thought that was great D?” Hardaway said during the game. “I thought that was just r*ping him.”
It’s hardly surprising that many fans were taken aback by this statement because it was so out of the ordinary. The five-time All-Star did, however, acknowledge his error and subsequently expressed regret. It’s reasonable to assume that Hardaway won’t be speaking in front of the camera for very long after that comment.
“Hey everybody, I used a poor choice of words earlier in the broadcast I wanna apologize for that.”

“I used a poor choice of words earlier in the broadcast. I want to apologize for that,” he later apologized. “Let’s get back to the game and let’s finish the game off with a 30-point win and go home happy.”
Hardaway played for the Golden State Warriors for six years of his successful NBA career. The point guard was entertaining to watch and crushed his opponents despite not winning a championship. It felt ideal to have him call Warriors games as an analyst. Sadly, he committed a mistake that could make producers hesitate before bringing him back on TV.
